This is a free service and many parents/students have found this service extremely helpful. Please ONLY sign up during the semester in which your student has me in class.
*** Grades: Please check the computer for grades daily or weekly.
Please inform me when I have incorrectly typed in grades so be sure and check your grades each week. If you have lost your code or messed up the code, then you may call the office for another one. If you do not have internet at home, you may go to any public library and check your grades.
1. Health Grading Scale:
- 10% Daily Points – 5 points Daily – Everyone begins each class period with 5 points; therefore, you begin each day with an A. You cannot lose more than 5 points in a day. 2 Points For Each Issue: Points will be deducted if --- you are not in your seat when the bell rings, have behavior problems, not following instructions, attitude, improper usage of think pad, think pad not charged, dress code issues, excessive talking, sleeping in class, gum - candy - cell phone, or missing any supplies. (binder, pen or pencil, agenda book, think pad)
- 30% Assignments - - I will only accept assignments 1 Health day late, receiving half credit. All assignments are due at the beginning of a period unless otherwise stated. Keep all assignments so you have them to use on your LDA or possible Final at the end of the semester.
Missing Assignments
1st time = Verbal Warning
2nd time = Warning note sent home (if not returned the next day, a loss of recess will occur)
3rd time = Loss of Recess
4th time = After School Detention
5th time = Office Referral (loss of all points that day)
- 60% Tests –You are not allowed to take on-line tests at home. If you do, you will receive a 0 on that test. All tests will be taken on test days unless you are absent the day of the test. You will take your make-up test the next day during enrichment or during your PE class. You are always notified on my website (BoyerPEHealth.weebly.com) a few days in advance for all tests and you have the option of having a text message sent to you to remind you of your test.
2. Agenda Book:
- You should have your agenda book with you everyday.
- Your agenda book is to be used for hall passes.
- All assignments will be on the board and posted on my website.
- You should write tests and assignments in your agenda book everyday when you arrive to class. This needs to be done while I am taking attendance.
- You are responsible for all information written on the board and on my website.
- You are responsible for all make-up work.
- If you are absent, you can do the work at home. You are not allowed to take on-line tests at home. If you do, you will receive a 0 on that test.
3. Health Materials Needed: (library book or other homework if you get finished early)
* Pen or pencil * Highlighter (?) * Library book
* earbuds optional (tests read) * Binder - with all subjects ** Kleenex/Paper Towels (class donation)
4. Restroom / Locker:
- Emergencies only (You have 4 minutes between each class.)
- You will get 3 sign outs per nine weeks. I only accept the highlighted ones in your agenda book.
- Your agenda book will be your hall pass. No agenda book/highlighted section = lose of daily points.
- 4 or more sign outs = loss of 2 daily points
5. Substitute Teacher:
- You should be nice and respectful to a substitute teacher. Treat this individual as well as your parent/ legal guardian.
- A detention will be given to any student who causes problems or is disrespectful to the substitute teacher.
6. AEA / Out of School Suspension - You are responsible for daily work so you need to check my website for your work if you have AEA or Out of School Suspension. All work is posted so you can do it at home. All tests on-line can only be taken in my room or AEA with supervision.

- A 10 point essay question will be given for each day you are not in PE/Health class. You will have to ask for this assignment when you return to school. In addition, out of school suspension students will have to ask for any make-up work the day they return in order to have the opportunity to make up the points.
